Dr. Joshua Nead, D.O.

Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist

Dr. Joshua Nead was drawn to Arizona's AT Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine for its approach to whole body health, which focuses on the connection between body, mind, and spirit. Dr. Nead utilizes a wide variety of non-medication, medication and psychotherapeutic approaches. Some of his specific interests include: ADHD, autism, attachment, depression, foster care, anxiety and trauma-informed care. His desire is to create a space where people can feel supported in their own personal journey to optimal mental health.

Background & Interests

Dr. Nead acknowledges his perspective, work ethic, and creativity are gleaned from life experiences. From a very young age, he had the incredible opportunity to study music and dance in a studio owned and operated by his mother. His dance training allowed him the opportunity to perform in various parts of the world and to experience a beautifully rich diversity of life. He has fond memories of performing on the palace grounds for the King of Tonga, Tāufaʻahau Tupou IV. He also served a 2-year mission in British Columbia, Canada. He has worked with children in his artistic endeavors, creating wellness programs, and his personal involvement in the Arizona foster care and adoption program. His unique life experiences have helped shape his understanding of how various ethnic backgrounds, cultural diversities, and socioeconomic status can impact and influence our mental health. He and his wife enjoy raising their children together.
